Design principles play an important part in the Southbury Garden Club’s goals. Three members provide design arrangements for several monthly meetings  A certain theme or design, such as mass, line, underwater, driftwood, stretch and see-through designs have all been featured recently.

The club tries to regularly schedule workshops for all levels of designers in the club. Each workshop features a different design style, ranging from basic mass and line designs to more advanced underwater, see through, and driftwood arrangements. Attendants also learn the mechanics used to create successful projects.

Members are encouraged to participate in local, regional and even national flower shows.

The workshops are free and one of the benefits of SGC membership. They are not open to the general public.

The next free Design Workshop for members will take place on Friday, March 27th at 10:00 a.m. at the Southbury Public Library.

Please contact Design Chairman, Elena Maclean (on 203-758-2474 or esmaclean5@gmail.com) for information on the design style and what supplies to bring to the workshop.

Many monthly meetings feature themed floral arrangements by various members. Below are samples of some of thes creative designs.
