MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Area men and women are eligible to apply for membership. Each member is
encouraged to take an active part in at least one of the club's
objectives: horticulture; artistic design; conservation or civic projects.
Members are expected to participate in club programs, fund raisers, and a
Flower Show when scheduled.
Our club is a diverse and interesting group
of men and women.
Our membership includes Master Gardeners, home gardeners,
and others who want to learn more about horticulture, design, conservation
and environmental issues.
The club participates in many local civic
projects including: beautifying local public areas; maintaining an herb
garden at Audubon at the Bent of the River; growing vegetables to donate to
the Southbury Food Bank; awarding local merchants for outstanding
landscaping efforts, and presenting a scholarship to a Southbury resident
pursuing a degree in horticulture or a related field.
The club works with other civic groups
including: Safe Haven; Town of Southbury; Historical Building Commission;
Audubon Society; the Southbury Public Library, and many others.
Members are expected to support our Annual
Spring Plant Sale; once a year assist with hospitality, and provide a flower
arrangement for display in the library when scheduled.
Prospective members must attend one business
meeting and submit an application form (below) which will be processed by
the SGC Board. Upon your acceptance a $35.00 annual membership will be due.
New membership applications are always
